Cost Containment Programs
Programs and processes that provide more savings to employers and employees.
Building a new benefits package?
Programs That Reduce Medical Costs
Our cost containment programs, services, and partnerships are designed to manage costs. The programs can evaluate the accuracy of charges, negotiate with out-of-network (OON) providers for the best possible rates, and provide governance over the charges health care providers submit. It’s part of our commitment to lowering the total cost of health care for all.
How Our Cost Containment Programs Work
Out-of-Network Protection
Network Savings Program (NSP) and Bill Negotiation Services (BNS) can reduce OON costs and provide added savings when health care providers agree to accept discounted reimbursements off of their billed charges. When savings are achieved through the NSP/BNS programs, customers may also avoid the risk of balance billing.
Payment Integrity
Multiple payment integrity programs provide claim analysis and audit recovery services to help ensure health care providers submit reasonable, accurate, and appropriate charges and identify overpayments.
Fraud Investigation
We provide investigation into fraud, waste, and abuse at no additional charge through our Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
Additional Benefits of Our Cost Containment Programs
- Direct negotiations with OON providers and facilities
- Behind-the-scenes claim analysis allows employers to be hands off
- Never charge a fee unless the programs are successful
