The 2020 Census Bureau estimates there are roughly 62.1 million Hispanics in the United States, making up 19% of the nation’s population.1 Hispanics and Latinos include people of Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, and South and Central American descent, as well as those of other Spanish cultures and races.2 Language and religion are often the only commonalities among the various Hispanic and Latino subgroups.
